‘Fantastic’ Responsiveness

Nick Angellotti is a senior healthcare consultant and has been with Floyd Lee Locums for about two years. To Angellotti, what separates Floyd Lee Locums from other locum tenens firms is its “white-glove approach” and “concierge-like service.” Their physicians are not just numbers but rather a part of their family. “We do look at our organization as a family, and every single note that I write to the physicians and the providers that I work with, I always sign it, ‘From Nick and the Floyd Lee Locums family,’” Angellotti says.

And it’s that level of service that stands out to Dr. Penny Williams, a pulmonary critical care physician. The availability and communication of her recruiter have made her feel cared for. “It’s fantastic to work with [my recruiter]. She’s so responsive,” Williams shares. “I know that if I call her, she’s going to answer or call me back within the hour — and with a lot of other companies, that’s not been the case. She seems to go above and beyond to try to stay in contact and to make sure everything is covered.”

One thing Angellotti believes sets Floyd Lee Locums apart is its approach to recruiting new providers. Recruiters like Angellotti focus on relationships and building trust first. They listen to the providers to ensure jobs match what the provider wants and where they want to be, not where the recruiter wants to place them.

Floyd Lee also empowers its staff to bring their own personal touch to their provider relationships. Angellotti recalls a provider whose daughter had a medical condition that required the family take a three- to four-hour plane ride to see a specialist.  “I knew the daughter was kind of down, so I put together a gift for her and sent it over with a note,” he relates. “Being able to brighten her day and make that human connection is one of the great things about my job.” Having the autonomy and freedom to provide such service is as meaningful to the staff as it is to their providers.

Pediatrician Dr. Susan Shelley has been with Floyd Lee Locums since September 2021, when a colleague sent her information about an assignment and introduced her to the Floyd Lee Locums family. She hadn’t worked with another staffing firm prior to working with Floyd Lee Locums, and she hasn’t worked with another since. She loves that they advocate for her and always have her back. “All I have to worry about is taking care of my patients,” Shelley says, adding that she values the amazing communication that she has with her recruiter.

An Earned Accolade

Being considered a “best to temp for” firm is important to Lee because that designation comes straight from their physicians and providers. “You can’t buy this award. You can’t just decide you want it and get it. You have to earn it,” Lee says. And earn it they have.

Going forward, Lee’s goal is to keep growing Floyd Lee Locums to become a major player in the healthcare staffing industry. “We want to be a company that’s leading others by example and really demonstrating how to get it right every day.”
